“Approaching this project was an unveiling. Nestled in a wooded area in the metropolitan proper of Portland, there were vistas to Mt. Hood and beyond. Que jolie! A 50’s Modern house with gestured flat roofs and clerestory windows. We then implemented a floor plan more consistent to those of Schindler and Neutra. Graceful rooms with deliberate movement toward the outdoors. The living and ensemble of public rooms progressed toward the compositional deck and toward the vista beyond. From every room, either by window or door placement, the view beyond is acknowledged, deliberate and thoughtful. Even the breakfast nook validates the conceptual intent of the Moderns, a glass box in the brilliant natural landscape.” ~ Sean Cho, Architect
